Association Profile
The Elwood Park Touch Association (EPTA) has a long history
within the Victorian Touch community, and runs Victoria's
premier summer Touch competition. The association is
managed by a small volunteer
committee
and is affiliated with the
Victorian Touch
Association.
The EPTA summer Men's and Women's competitions boast the
highest standard of park level Touch played anywhere in
Victoria. Most Victorian representative players have
played in our competition at one stage or another. EPTA
representative teams are regular finalists and past premiers
of the Victorian Affiliates Cup annual tournament.
History
The EPTA competition was originally run at Elsternwick
Park, located just a few hundred metres away from our
present location. The competition was originally organised
by the Victorian Touch
Association and for many years (1980's) was the only
formal Touch competition running in Melbourne. As part of
its policy of expansion, in 1992 the VTA encouraged a small
group of players to form the Elsternwick Park Touch
Association and oversee the management of the competition.
In 1994 the competition moved to its present grounds at
Elwood Park and the association was renamed the Elwood Park
Touch Association.
Committee
EPTA is managed by a small group of volunteers who
administrate the planning and running of the competition.
